Soft edges. A face you still recognize.
A small watercolor moment.
Choose your pet photos. We will use their features to create this scene; the example animal is only a reference for the setting.
The eyes and pink nose are the sharpest details in this watercolor study. Leave the outer fur edges loose and the paper visible so the portrait feels painted rather than like a photograph with a texture filter.
A white chest can disappear into ivory paper if the edges are erased everywhere. Keep a few deliberate shadow edges beneath the chin and paws. For printing, confirm the final image’s pixel dimensions against the chosen print size.
Build this look
- Anchor the face
Retain green eyes, pink nose and tabby forehead stripes.
- Loosen the edges
Let selected fur edges dissolve into unpainted paper.
- Check the crop
Keep the tail and paws away from the trim area.
What makes the result work
- The eyes should not become two different colors.
- Do not remove every boundary between white fur and paper.
